July 4 Calciomercato website reported that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) fined Italian Roma for violating the rules of financial fair play.

According to the source, "I Giallorossi" failed to reach a capital increase of over €28 million by June 30, as a result they were fined €5 million. It should be noted that Roma received the minimum penalty, despite the fact that the club could face more serious sanctions such as suspension from the European Cups and a fine of €50 million.

Last season 2022/2023, under Jose Mourinho, the team finished sixth in the Serie A standings with 63 points, qualified for the Europa League group stage and also made it to the UEFA Champions League final, where they lost to Spain's Sevilla (1-2).
