Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola responded to questions about a possible departure from the English club.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes the coach as saying:

I’ve said many times, I won’t talk about it. When it happens, it will happen. We’re in touch regularly. What happens happens always for the benefit of the club.

Guardiola has been at the helm of Manchester City since 2016. Under his leadership, the club has become Premier League champions six times, claimed the FA Cup and Community Shield twice, won the EFL Cup four times, and achieved victory in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

The current contract for the 53-year-old Spanish coach with Manchester City runs until the end of the 2024/2025 season.

In the English Premier League standings, Manchester City are currently in second place with 23 points after ten matches.

Previously, Manchester City under Guardiola lost three consecutive matches for the first time since April 2018.

According to The Athletic, the Citizens are considering Bayer Leverkusen's coach Xabi Alonso as a potential replacement in case the Spanish coach decides to leave the club.
