The Premier League Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash between Everton and Liverpool has been postponed some hours before kick-off because of the effects of Storm Darragh.

However, the dangerous weather conditions caused after Storm Darragh hit the UK have led to the decision to postpone the match in the interests of supporter safety.
Everton confirmed the match postponement in a social media statement on Saturday morning. “Today's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.”
Ahead of the kickoff, an amber severe wind warning was issued by the Met Office for Merseyside from 1 am GMT on Saturday, with wind gusts of 60 mph to 70 mph likely. The wind and the rain were predicted to get worse before they improved, and supporters were also advised to keep a close eye on travel and weather guidance in their area to assist with travel planning for the Premier League fixture.
